The sixteenth George W. Glennie Memorial Nature Salon, sponsored by the Greater Lawrence Camera Club, was held on April 3, 1996. The Salon Chairman was assisted by many of the club members which made this salon go so smoothly. Chris Pippitone, Jim Niro, and Mary Dyer the human calculator kept score while John Lowe did a great job of sorting. The special thanks to Chris Pippitone of Lawrence for donating a lot of his time and sweat raising money for this Salon. I especially thank our three judges Susan Mosser, John Fuller, and Wes Bell for their help in judging our competition. The three judges are considered among the best nature photographers in the New England area. Mr. Bell was very good to step in at the last minute to replace Mr. Morton who could not make it. A total of 146 slides were entered from 15 clubs from all over New England. The competition went well but very stiff in the animal and bird categories. Botany, General, and Insect had few entries. The slides were fantastic.
