"Being new to photography, I was looking for a club
that offered more than just competitions. At Yankee, I met
a woman who told a friend and me about MVCC and invited us
to check it out. The first meeting we attended was "model
night"… we didn't know what that was, so didn't bring anything
except our curiosity. Everyone at the club was very friendly,
and one man even offered to lend me an extra camera he had
if I wanted to participate! Our next visit was during a print
competition. We were impressed with the friendliness of the
club members, the manner in which the competition was conducted,
the caliber of the images, and most of all, the constructive
commentary that was provided by the then-club President after
the critiques were given. The variety of programs and competitions
MVCC offers every year, coupled with the friendliness and
extensive expertise found within the club membership, provides
a great learning and social environment for any photographer
- from amateur to professional."
