Bought my first camera in 1970, was a Yashica Electro 35
G. (poor man's Lieca). I read once that Photographers are
"frustrated artists". I suppose so. I like realism,
hence my love for photography. My Air Force Service career
sent me to South East Asia in 1971 where I picked up my first
SLR. It was a Konica with a 28mm, 135mm and a 400mm Soligor
lens.
Early on I gravitated to Black & White Photography, I
have very few color slides to my name, but about 30,000 B&W
negs. I built a darkroom about 25 years ago and had spend
many hundreds of hours in it before digital came along. Now
I spend many hours at the computor trying to get great B&W's
from files!!

Over the years I changed to
Nikon equipment. I now own an F Photomic (1968), a 1974 F-2,
an F-3hp, an F-4 and just last week a bought a D-200 to replace
my D-50, (gave the D-50 to my 20 year old son). I have a nice
variety on manual and AF lenses to accompany these wonderful
bodies. I've been a MVCC member since 2004, Belonged to another
club for years but left to join MVCC because of the great camaraderie
I've found here, (Great People). |

My photo likes are just about
anything that interests me, I'm not particular about subject
matter but try to focus in on specific features of my subjects.
Like to shoot street stuff, candids, kids, animals, Buildings
also interest me. Like to spend Saturday mornings out shooting. |
